Responsible gaming policy
Games on DM First Play are entertainment, and entertainment has a budget. Fast-round games in particular compress dozens of decisions into a few minutes, which makes losing track of time and money easy. This policy explains the controls we provide, how we identify players at risk, and where to get independent help.
18+ only
You must be at least 18, or the legal minimum age where you live if it is higher. Accounts identified as underage are closed, stakes are voided and deposits returned to the original payment source.
Tools you control
Deposit limits
Cap what you can add daily, weekly or monthly. A tighter limit applies immediately; a looser one takes effect only after a 24-hour cooling period so it cannot be raised mid-session.
Loss limits
Set the maximum net loss you accept over a period. Once reached, wagering pauses until the period resets — the limit does the walking away for you.
Session timers
Choose a session length and receive an on-screen reminder showing elapsed time and net position. Fast-round games erase your sense of time; the timer restores it.
Reality checks
Periodic prompts summarise total staked, total returned and rounds played since login.
Cool-off periods
Lock your account for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. The lock cannot be lifted early by you or by support.
Self-exclusion
Exclude for six months, twelve months, five years or permanently. Marketing stops, the account closes to play, and remaining balance is returned.
Signs worth taking seriously
- Playing longer or for more than you planned, repeatedly.
- Increasing stakes to win back losses.
- Borrowing money, or using money set aside for bills, to play.
- Hiding how much you play from family or friends.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
- Playing to escape stress, low mood or boredom rather than for entertainment.
If more than one of these is familiar, set a cool-off period today rather than after the next session. Nothing is lost by pausing.
How we intervene
Play patterns are monitored for markers of harm: sharply rising stakes, sessions extending far beyond a player's norm, repeated cancelled withdrawals and deposit attempts immediately after large losses. Flagged accounts receive a direct message, then temporary limits, then suspension if the pattern continues. We also decline to market promotions to any player who has set limits, self-excluded or been flagged.
Independent help
Support that is not connected to any operator is available worldwide. GamCare and BeGambleAware (UK), Gambling Therapy (international, multilingual) and Gamblers Anonymous all offer free, confidential help, and national helplines exist in most countries. Blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker can restrict access to gambling sites across all your devices.
To request a limit, cool-off or self-exclusion on DM First Play, write to support@dmfirstplay.com from your registered email address. Requests to restrict play are actioned first and questioned never.
